ISO 14001 Certification

 
The hard work of many people at AltaSteel culminated in AltaSteel receiving ISO 14001:2004 certification in August 2008. Altasteel is particularly proud of having gotten through the audit with zero non-conformances.
 
AltaSteel maintains a standing EMS Committee, which represents all departments and areas across the plant site. The committee played a key role in preparing Altasteel for the audit and now oversees the various programs that are in place to enhance our environmental performance.
 
To celebrate achieving ISO 14001 certification, management hosted a hot breakfast for all employees. Attendees also received a Scaw Metals Group shirt as a memento of this very important achievement.
