Bar Mill Inspector

I started with AltaSteel in 2011.  I started in the Chem. Lab which tests the steel as it is being made it to ensure it meets the right grade in chemistry.  I have a background in Chemistry and since joining AltaSteel have increased my knowledge in metallurgy and have also had the opportunity to learn skills in Non-Destructive Testing.  I currently work in the Test Lab which tests the steel after it is rolled into one of our many products. Through the Test Lab I do ultrasonic testing in our Heat Treat facility where we make our award winning grinding rod.

In all my different positions I have been part of the Quality Assurance team, ensuring we meet our promise to our customers. AltaSteel is an employer of choice who supports their employees. Not only does AltaSteel bestow a sense of camaraderie, my family has benefited through its’ scholarship program, which has helped my children in university.  I am proud to work for such a leader in the industry, AltaSteel.
