Electrical Planner, Bar Mill
The Electrical Planner plays a key role in planning and coordinating electrical maintenance activities within the Bar Mill. This position is ideal for a motivated, mechanically inclined professional with strong electrical expertise who is looking to advance their career in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule short-term and long-term maintenance activities, including routine downtime and major shutdowns, with a focus on minimizing breakdowns and meeting budget targets
- Prioritize work effectively to support equipment reliability and ensure accurate time and resource estimates
- Develop detailed work packages and maintenance plans for electrical jobs within the Bar Mill
- Collaborate with other planners and technical specialists to coordinate all related work orders within assigned areas
- Maintain optimal inventory levels of spare parts and consumables in coordination with stores
- Continuously improve maintenance planning, scheduling, and data integrity processes
- Provide regular reports on planning and scheduling activities
- Support emergency situations with troubleshooting and planning assistance
- Monitor CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) usage and provide feedback to leadership for continuous improvement
- Coordinate, manage, and supervise contractors
- Develop maintenance and project budgets and estimates
- Ensure safety is integrated into all planning and execution processes, including Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
- Lead and participate in planning and scheduling meetings
Qualifications & Skills:
- Journeyperson Electrician Certification, Electrical Technologist Diploma or equivalent
- 3 + years of experience in Electrical Planning
- 3 + years of hands-on experience installing and maintaining electrical systems
- Experience working with a CMMS program
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working as a maintenance planner is considered an asset
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Strong organization skills
