Millwright - (3rd & 4th Year Apprentices & Journeypersons)
This is an excellent opportunity for a safety‑minded, motivated Millwright to build a long-term career in steel manufacturing.
The successful individual will be performing preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs within the plant facility. You’ll join a skilled maintenance team and play a key role in ensuring all equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on pumps, seals, motors, conveyors, and other industrial equipment
- Perform troubleshooting on hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
- Work closely with plant engineers and operations staff to troubleshoot equipment issues and identify improvement opportunities
- Interpret drawings and plans to determine the most efficient repair approach with minimal production interruption
- Assemble, fit, align, and adjust machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in the CMMS
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of tools and parts
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and work to minimize downtime
- Collaborate with other trades (electricians, welders, operators) to complete maintenance tasks
Qualifications & Skills
- Journeyperson Millwright Certification (Alberta), Red Seal Interprovincial Certification or Registered 3rd or 4th Year Millwright Apprentice (Alberta Apprenticeship Program).
- Experience maintaining equipment in an industrial or plant environment
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
- Strong safety mindset and commitment to following procedures
- Strong communication and problem solving skills
- Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team
- Basic computer literacy
Details
- Full time, permanent, in-town opportunity
- Hourly rate for Journeypersons $46.195 plus shift premiums, apprentice rate is 80-90% based on 3rd/4th year
