Sales & Production Coordinator
The Sales & Production Coordinator plays a key role in supporting both sales operations and production planning activities to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately, efficiently, and on schedule. This position coordinates production schedules, monitors inventory and capacity, and provides critical sales administrative support including order processing, customer data management, and delivery coordination.
Acting as a central point of coordination between Sales, Production, Procurement, Logistics, and Quality, this role ensures alignment between customer demand and production capability while maintaining high standards of accuracy, communication, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed production schedules based on sales forecasts, customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity.
- Coordinate with Steelmaking and Bar Mill operations to ensure timely execution of production plans.
- Analyze production capacity, identify bottlenecks, and recommend adjustments to optimize resource utilization and minimize downtime.
- Monitor and adjust production plans based on changing priorities, material availability, and operational constraints.
- Utilize QMOS and other systems to track production activity, generate reports, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records related to production schedules, order status, and inventory levels.
- Provide administrative support to the Sales team, including preparing sales orders, order confirmations, and related documentation.
- Enter, update, and maintain customer order and pricing information in sales and operational systems.
- Coordinate order fulfillment timelines between Sales, Production, and Logistics to ensure customer delivery commitments are met.
- Communicate production status, delays, or changes in availability to Sales and other stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
- Support customer inquiries related to order status, lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Liaise with Sales, Procurement, Logistics, Operations, and Quality teams to ensure alignment between customer demand and production output.
- Monitor raw material and finished goods inventory levels and coordinate with Procurement to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Assist in tracking key performance indicators such as production efficiency, lead times, and order fulfillment performance.
- Compile reports and provide data insights to support planning, forecasting, and decision-making.
- Communicate regularly with the Manager, Sales to ensure alignment between sales commitments and production capability.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience in a production planning, sales coordination, or sales administration role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with QMOS or similar systems is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage competing deadlines.
- Post-secondary education in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience supporting sales teams with administrative and order management tasks is considered an asset
