Journeyperson Electrician
This is a great opportunity for a safety-minded, motivated Journeyperson Electrician to begin their career in steel manufacturing. The successful individual will be responsible for preventative maintenance and repairs to electrical components within the plant facility. The successful individual will be required to work in a team environment utilizing their capabilities, experience, and training to the full extent with a focus on ensuring all equipment is maintained to a high degree of predictable reliability.
Responsibilities
- PLC's (wiring, instrumentation, control, bypasses)
- Overhead cranes (static stepless)
- Instrumentation (RTD's, TC's, flowmeters, etc.)
- High Voltage (34.9KV and 4160V including switching, insulators, Joslyn switches, controls)
- Troubleshooting (process control, AC/DC, low voltage, high voltage, PLC's)
- Preventative maintenance, rebuilds of electrical components (Joslyn switches, temperature lances, brake panels)
- Radiation (sources, control, testing)
- Lockouts
- Working closely with mechanical maintenance (Millwrights) to ensure quality and expedited repairs of equipment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Alberta Certified Journeyperson Electrician or Red Seal Interprovincial Electrician - Must provide proof of where apprenticeship was completed
- Ability to read and follow strict policies and procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to use basic computer systems
- Previous heavy industrial maintenance experiences an asset
- Proactive mindset geared towards safety
Job Details
- In-town, stable career
- Hourly rate $46.75
- 12 hour, day and night, rotational in-town shift work
- Overtime at 1.5X and 2.0X
